Just a shoe???

It's only the most important part of a mans wardrobe. You are judged by your shoes...wanna pick up chics? Wear nice shoes.

I wouldn't care to be with a person who judges me by my shoes.

The question was 'Will I look like a raving Queen of teh Rainbow Parade in these shoes?' My response was correct in this context.

Anyway, I have a 'chic'(sic).

Metrosexual? Perhaps, but it's pretty damn stupid to judge a person's sexual preference based on his shoes.

A metrosexual is a heterosexual man who isn't afraid to look good. I'm wondering why that is considered a bad thing around here?

not many people are afraid to look good... it's how much effort you put into it that determines whether or not you are a metrosexual. e.g., if you pluck your eyebrows, you might just be one.

It's not just the effort, it's more the level of sophisitcation or skill you bring to the task of looking good.

for men, effort = level of sophistication. it's not rocket science or some kind of art, it's just simple stuff that anybody could do if they so chose to spend the time.

The Urbandictionary has 101 definitions of metrosexual.

Those definitions of metrosexual are kind of homophobic, in line I guess with the typical ATOTer's understanding of what it means to be metrosexual, i.e., a closet homosexul.

I'd make a distinction between a sophisticated or clueless visual aesthetic, and effort expended.

I have these. They're uncomfortable as hell, so I don't wear them (well, when I go dancing, I wear them.. they don't hurt my feet when I'm dancing for some reason).

Instead, for everyday use, I wear this other pair of shoes that I have that are much more comfortable. But they need to be replaced, because they're all messed up. Hmm.. maybe today I can do that..
