Topic. I have a PNY card and it roars. Do I have any options? I see mention on these silencer/cooler things but I've no experience with them or even know if they suit my problem.

I don't think that the card's temps are an issue (55 degrees celcius idle - 73 stressed), but maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think $32 is expensive for someone that spent $400 on a video card. Check it out. It should solve your problem. ;)

What does it do? Attach over the GPU via a clip of some sort? I'm assuming it would require its own power connection?

Sounds good, but it's out of stock.

It is powered by the small little fan connector on the card already. I plan on getting one of these once they actually hit 30 shipped.

Isn't there some sort of software proggy any of you know of that could help him to throttle his fan?
I don't know of anything for these new cards, and I don't think he should have to resort to getting a new HSF for his video card unless he absolutely has to, since it doesn't seem like he's had experience putting one on before.

Yeah, that's right, you (OP) shouldn't rush and install an aftermarket fan unless you're sure you can't go with the stock one, it's risky to install an aftermarket fan especially if you don't have experience in this field, you could permenantly damage your core wich results in 400$ in the garbage. Becarefull!
