As you see by many of the posts... It will change the relationship, but change is not allways bad. It could be the best thing ever, but it could be the road to ruin. You better ask youself what you expect from it, because this IS the move to the next level.

I meant one occasion, not one entry 😉

Well, we've been friends since we were maybe 10 years old, both 29 now. We briefly discussed it, and both were worried that it could lead to a big negative for our friendship, which would totally suck. I think it's a good rule, if you think about it, you'll see there are many reasons why it's a good idea.

I don't know but I wish that I did. The timing was always wrong between my best friend and I. She had a bf for 3 years and when she finally broke up with him she moved away shortly after and now I'm away at college. I wish we had done something in the short amount of time though. Hell we even talked about it but it never ended up happening. Now she has a new boyfriend and is pregnant and says she'll probably marry him so it looks like I lost my chance forever to find out what could have been. 🙁 Oh well, at least we're still friends.
 
Recall the episode of Seinfeld when George dates a girl that looks like Jerry.

George: *thinks in his head* She's like everything I can have with Jerry, except I can have sex with her....
 
Sadly, You getting serious/married to someone else , or her getting serious/married to someone else, will ruin the friendship (or if not the marriage). Therefore, You may as well give it a shot since eitherway it's going to end, just a matter of when. As said above, at least you'll have the comfort of knowing.







 
When I started dating my wife here best friend (a guy) started crying. He had wanted to make a move but was to shy. They don't talk much anymore.
