It's only a Pentium 4 1.4 that sits idle for almost 16-20 hrs a day with a broadband connection, how much help would this really be

Ok, I will set it up when I get home my next question is..I went to the website and didn't see any XP drivers and such should I just use the Win 9x install and has anyone had any problems with that

Sn0, I use windows xp on my primary computer. Just download the CLI driver on Teribas page for winNT and follow his instructions and you will be good to go.

The CLI and SetiDriver at teriba's site are all you need!

Your P4 will rock at SETI 😀.......(assuming it has RDRAM or DDR RAM)
Either way you certainley will be helping us 🙂

Exactly what they all said! 😀

Every WU counts, every PC helps! 😀

Plus, there are some great people around here willing to help with just about anything too. 😀

Just watch out for the old guy with the cane......😉😉

I just fired up an old PIII 500 to join the crunching effort. That P4 will be a big help to the TeAm!

Welcome, Sn0! 🙂

Hey, I have a 233 MHZ k6-2 running seti 🙂 Every little bit helps. You may only have one computer running it now, but you will catch the SETI bug. I think they put something in the CLI that makes you hunger for more WU's 🙂

Your PC will absolutely help. Many of the TA members have only one machine doing SETI but together they make up a massive amount of computing. In fact, that's the whole point of distributed computing.

Welcome to the team. If you run into any problems getting the client installed just ask away. There's tons of helpful people here!

And then there's the NUTS like me that have double-digit numbers of PCs in their homes doing pretty much nothing but SETI! :Q 😀
