would like to learn css

What's a simple way to learn CSS? I would like to learn so I can make web pages, maybe I am starting in the wrong direction? I just know a friend needs css edited for his site so I would like to help him out. Thanks for any help.

Best way to learn anything is to Read-->practice-->read. Or vice versa. When I learned photoshop I messed with it and just kept tampering with it as well as doing various tutorials. Then I read books. It may sound like a backasswords approach but reading about something you havent seen in action I think is a lot harder than a whole bunch of ah ha moments when reading after you were thrown in the jungle.

Try to go through basic tutorials then dip into some books.
