Would it make sense to put future employment on my resume?

I'm sending my resume in with my applications for graduate school. I have an internship with really good company lined up for the summer, should I put that on my resume?

If you do I would put the date in as 'Scheduled Summer 2010' or something like that. I don't think its that out of place to include.

Being that you havent done it, it would be lying and that would be bad

I would obviously put Prospective Employment or something like that. Its a fairly decent accomplishment to get a job offer at this company. Thats why I want to put it on there.

I always do this. Whenever I apply for a job, I'm sure to add that company to my resume, along with salary. It's a subtle way of letting them know that they should hire me. It works. Everyone knows this.

It would only be lying if he tried to make it sound like he had already completed it. If he makes it clear that it is scheduled to be done this summer I don't think there is a problem with it.

I don't really see this as a good idea. As a prospective employer, once I get over the confusion of seeing some mysterious "future employment" section on your resume, I'm going to think to myself "why the fuck am I going to hire this guy when he already has a job lined up?" Whether the internship completes before or after this job you're applying for, the same thought applies.

It's especially helpful that you list the ending date for your employment, so we know when to fire you :)

But seriously

June 2010 - Augusst 2010 - Umbrella Corporation, accepted for internship, bioweapons division

... seems reasonable to me.

maybe put it in an achievements section, like
accepted to company A summer intership program for summer 2010
university honors, spring 2009
received XXXX scholarship, fall 2009

i would not put it in employment history, and a future employment section seems out of place
