Would it be wrong of me to ask an ebayer to send first, even though i won HIS auction?

I know it's an auction, but he only has one feedback rating, and he only takes money orders. Me on the other hand, has about 10 heatware refs, and 37 ebay refs. I don't want to have to spend an extra 4 dollars to send the money order delivery confirmation, just to make sure that sucka gets there. Would it be wrong of me to ask him to send first?

Yes it would be wrong. You had a chance to examine the seller's feedback and see his terms concerning payment, the time to be concerned about potentially getting ripped off was before you bid.

I think it would be wrong. But you could ask and see what he says. If he refuses, you should still uphold your end of the bargain as usual.

Really, what type? I don't know if USPS has that ability; besides the one where you can file for a refund if the other party hasn't received the MO in 30 days. But which type can you track?

i meant track as in find out where, when, who cashed it.

I would not call it tracking. But yes you can see if a MO has been cashed. For something like $2.50 each time you check and fill out the paperwork to check.

The one and only they have. You'll find out when it was cashed when you give them the money order number.

That's it exactly.. need to check this out & be happy before you bid.

Use a postal MO, I think they are only .75, and if you really want to add DC it's just a little extra, not $4.

Hmm, strange, the last time i asked the postal worker, she said that i HAD to buy priority in order to use DC. so that was about 3.50 + 0.75, give or take.

You can't use DC on a first-class letter by itself, only on priority and parcel post (and media mail). For a letter, you could use certified mail (+$2.10) for proof of delivery and mailing.

No, your postal employee was wrong if she told you that you can only obtain Delivery Confirmation with Priority.

OTOH, I don't think they offer DC for regular 1st class letter, you'd need to use "Certified" which is a bit over $2 as I recall.

You could check out your mailing options on the PO site - http://www.usps.gov

Very wrong, it shows that you're a deadbeat bidder. I believe it's against their policy. If y ou want to do that, have them use half.com. Plus, if you're unsure whether the seller will send, buy from elsewhere.

Yes, you bid based on the information given by the seller. You accepted those terms and won the bid.

Put yourself into seller's position. If I am a seller, I wouldn't send first no matter how many good ratings the bidder has.

Either pay up first, or be in violation of ebay rules and be classified as a deadbeat. Nobody cares if your feedback rating is higher (and your numerical feedback level is far from being impressive by the way), you cannot go around demanding outrageous things. For all the seller knows, those feedback you've earned could have been from penny auctions.
