Would it be better if I enable WEP?

I don't know what WEP is supposed to do...I guess some protection stuff.....anyway, I don't have mine enable...should I enable it? Does it slow down the connection?
Btw..I have the wireless adater card B version....if that matters

it will definately slow down your B connection. BUT, hackers can drop a sniffer on your signal and get your passwords and stuff. If you simply can't live without the speed, your best bet is to disable SSID broadcast and enable MAC address filtering.

WEP hit should be marginal. It is the better solution of the three (disabling SSID broadcast and MAC addy filtering). You should use all three.

It is apparently pretty easy to break in without knowing the SSID, and the MAC address is in the headers of the IP packets, so that's not much of a secret as soon as someone monitors your signal. I'd use the WEP, it's by far the most effective measure available.
