would I notice much of a difference from xp2100 to mobile 24-2500?

Right now I have an athlonxp2100 and a asusa7v333 mobo. I can get like a 7 mhz(from 133 to 140) fsb overclock(1800mhz) and I cant climb over that, Im looking to buy just a good bang for my buck upgrade, and wondering if the mobile processors would be it?

no and no. Anyway, if you were to get a mobile barton, you might be needing a newer nforce2 motherboard to run it at 400 FSB. You might newer memory too unless you already have PC3200. Overclocks on mobile bartons range from 2.2 on the lowest/cheapest end to 2.5/2.6 on the more expensive bartons. If you plan to get much of your overclock from multiplier adjustment, I'd go for it, but if you want high FSBs I'd say wait for nforce4 and and affordable socket 754 motherboard/cpu.

Hmph. I have 768 mb of 3200ram. Dont have the nforce 2 though, but I did update my bios. Does it really matter? I just want a fsb that can hit from 180-200mhz.

yep it matters, motherboards are (nearly) everything to overclocking. if you want to boost your speed, keep your current proc and upgrade your mobo, then later down the line decide what you wanna do.
