Would I notice an SSD upgrade?

I think I might be getting used to the speed of my new rig, but it doesn't feel blazing fast anymore. My SSD was recycled from an old build and it's pretty decent at ~220MB/s reads, writes aren't too good though. Instead of a second 6870 I was thinking of investing in a Samsung 830 or something along that line. Should I get a newer generation SSD over a second video card?

I figure that with an SSD like yours, I can get at least double the read speeds and multiple times the write speeds though.

What SSD do you have now? I googled "Corsair Performance SSD" but could only find Corsair Performance Pro?

I really doubt you will "feel" the difference between your SSD and a newer faster one. If you were upgrading from a HDD to an SSD it would be a different story though.

Looking at that drive it is an early generation Samsung drive. Not sure if it is a version of the 470 controller or a controller that even predates that.

Looking at the benchs on a couple of sites, my current Samsung 830 is between 25 and 50%+ faster on alot of the scores. You have a 2500k overclocked and a Z68 board but an SSD from 2.5 years ago. I would think if you upgraded to either an 830 or Intel 520, you should see a noticeable increase in speed.

Hmm, perhaps upgrading to a 128GB SSD makes more sense. 64GB is cramped for my main rig, but it should be fine for my secondary Q6600 machine.

IMO, once you have any SSD that can do 200-300 MB/s read, there's no real point in upgrading for speed alone... at least not until there's another significant speed increase. Storage space, though is a different matter. I got a 128gb Crucial M4, and I'm already feeling like I need a bigger drive because I've been gradually moving more and more games over for quicker loading.
