Okay, since, if you're a seller the fee that you pay to ebay is based on what the winning auction cost was..can you post in your auction that the bidder must pay a certain "fee" or something?

For example..say you expect get around $200 on a final bid for a certain product. What you would do is say in your auction, "add $100 to final price for handling" or something. That way the final bid would probably be around $100 still..if the buyer knows what's happening, and you still get ~$200 but without the huge fee.

Anyone ever try this?

This poppedup a few days ago...yes they allow it as long as its not completely unreasonable. If it's a computer and you charge 100 bucks shipping thats fine...

and that violates a few TOS

however, i don't think it's illegal to give a "discount" to pay via MO

I think you can tack on more for the Shipping since its "Shipping and handling". That supid handling is where the money's at...

that could get you in trouble with ebay.

Also for the ideal suggested that will also get you in trouble with ebay as well since you are trying to avoid FV fees.

They don't allow it if you put a percentage in there....in my auctions I always say paypal and billpoint accepted(buyer pays related fees). I've been doing that for a year now and no problems...

For you to charge something like that....plausible but may be frowned upon.

Most (not all) buyers incorporate shipping costs with bid. If you have high S&H. It reflects at close.

I'm wondering if I can assess a buyers premium.
