I registered a domain name recently, and was wondering about hosting. Would anyone be willing to host my webpage for me for a short time? PM me if you are willing, I am signing off for the night.

I actually need a place for my domain name to be hosted. What is the best hosting service? I have heard that there are free ones, but the lowest I could find cost $6 per month. I did find one place called A+ hosting that was "free," but from the fine print I gathered it would end up costing me ~$200 for the first year alone.
I have never had a domain name, I don't know exactly how all this works. I have registered the name already at dotster, what do I need now?

Is your website just html, or are there binary files on it?

Just html = not as much bandwidth - I could host one of those off my 128kbps up cable connection

The site is just html. I can't host it myself, as I have a DHCP cable access. And, I imagine it would be quite slow.

Host it yourself on you cable modem. you can still do it even if you can a dynamic IP.

Or

$6/mo sound pretty cheap to me. If you can't afford that, you can always go with a free service.

I'd have to build myself a quality server if I wanted to host it myself, and I would think it'd still be kind of slow. As for going with a free place, that is what I am asking about. Does anyone know of a free host? I did another search, and this time I found one place that offered one month of free service, but then started charging. I'm afraid they may make it difficult for you to cancel the service when the one month is up.
