I have an intel 810 motherboard w/onboard video... (1 or 2meg...?) but was wondering if adding an old Monster 3D (PCI 4meg) video card w/pass through cable help it in games or would it hinder it...?

Opinions...?

Thanks in advance... ;)

The built-in 810 graphics controller is an integrated 2D/3D accelerator and IIRC it has 8 MB VRAM. As it stands it'll be much faster than that Voodoo1 of yours. Also using the pass-through cable will degrade your 2D image quality.

The I810's integrated graphics is pretty sad by today's standards.... based on a modified I740 core if I recall correctly. But it is nonetheless faster then the original Voodoo1.

i810 is bad but still quicker than a Voodoo1.
I got a GF2MX PCI to replace the i810. Works great. Some people say go for Voodoo5 because it is the quickest PCI card out there, hands down. I didn't because of the obvious. They're out of business.

the 810 doesn't have a set amount of memory, but takes up to 11 MB of system memory depending on what it is doing. regardless, it sucks pretty bad :) however, despite its suckitude, it is better than a voodoo1. when i owned an 810 system (it is now my girlfriend's) i put a voodoo2 in it and got a great increase in speed. v2's are really cheap ($12 in some places), so i would go buy 2 of those and run them in SLI or (assuming you can disbble the onboard video on your motherboard, which you can't do on all systems) go get a nice voodoo3 PCI of geforce2MX PCI.
