Your cpu usage averages 90% during multiplayer?
69 mustang was referring to your "something like GPU-Z but for the CPU" comment. It's called cpu-z. The link for it is right below the picture he posted.\
And yes overclocking your cpu will help with BF4.
Looking at your build in the signature, you shouldn't have any problem overclocking on a 550w PSU. Ivy Bridge doesn't use all that much power
I tried over clocking my i7 920 for the first time ever today. I went from 2.66 stock to 3.6ghz. I didn't want to go higher because I was worried about temps. I tried loading up BF4 before and after and just running the test range and my fps stayed exactly the same![]()
CPU performance only matters in multilayer.
Particularly when you go over 32 players.
My old Core 2 Quad Q9450 could barely keep up at 32 players (40-60 fps depending) but completely died at 48 and 64 players back in BF3.
When the BF4 beta came along, I got 15-25 FPS before the performance patch and 20-40 FPS afterwards, in 32 player servers.
SOOO much better now that I'm on Haswell.
I would sell it and get a 3770K.
