Wait?o_O
i have a few no it will not and now a yes it will?
Not tryin to be a smart ass or doubt you but
have you actually had it happen to you with a 3570K?
your cpu will be fine for for 99% of cases. I was just saying in a game like Crysis 3 yes it will be a limitation at least in some areas. Watch Dogs looks to need more than 4 threads too depending on what review you look at it.

out of curiosity, why didn't you choose a 290? similar or better performance, 3 free games and a much lower price. Sure people will argue that nvidia has better drivers but i do think where exclusivity is out of the question amd has the better offer.

my friends both had AMD card(7970 matrix and the other had a 290 reference)
and both had so many issues it scared me off from AMD.
Plus i read online a lot of guys also had these same issues.

Nope I have both and the 770 is considerably better (obviously) but not worth upgrading to from a 760.

Soooo, what are you going to do with your 760, just run it as a PhysX card?

back up GPU. you never know right?;)
even though the 760 is over two years old and never gave me a prob that does not mean the 780 wont.
BTW, what would that do? running it as a PhysX card?

Having PhysX running off a dedicated card and leaving the primary card to just render the game usually gives you a performance boost over letting the primary card render the game + physx on top if you have it enabled on a single gpu system.

I would not keep the 760 just for a back up card. I would just sell it as that is a chunk of money thats just going to sit there.

I will have to look into this,it sound really good and it is better than have the 760 sit in its box.

to be honest dont need the cash right now, i feel better having it around just in case?
Believe it or not i dont know what i wound do without my pc to game?
my laptop is only for surfing,it is no where near good enough for the gaming i do.
this way i can put the 760 back IF the 780 failed me at some point and be right back to gaming until i got the 780 up and running or replaced.

well its your money. to me its just too nice of a card to have sitting around for what will likely be no reason. I have an old 8600gt in case something happens plus me and you both could use onboard graphics if something goes wrong. in 11 years of gaming I have never had a video card go out on me anyway. might as well have a backup for all of your other components if you are that worried.:p

i would not really say difficulty running them but trying to max Crysis 3, need for speed- most wanted and Battlefield 4 have a problem with low FPS on a 760 if i set them too high

the 780 should be great for those games, but I was able to run all those games with decent FPS on my old 670, I had to overclock the GPU memory by nearly a gigahertz but they were all very playable.

Crysis 3 is the toughest out of the 3, the other 2 were surprisingly light on my rig.

I'd sell that 760 for a cool $200 and maybe spend $50.00 on an emergency backup GPU, if you really need one. But sell the 760 while it still has good resale value, IMO.

Definitely once you are confident with the 780, sell the 760 before the value goes down.

you guys must have brought me luck or something?
I was going to hang on to the 760 but i just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is also a big gamer i told him i ordered a 780 and he said he would give me $150 plus his gtx 570 for my 760.
the 570 is only a year old(never been oc or abused) but he really wants a 700 series. the 570 would make a great back up and i get some cash back from the 780 purchase
this was win/win day!

Also a good suggestion if he doesn't mind the drawbacks that come with a dual card setups.

I've been running 760 SLI for a while now and still have not noticed what these supposed drawbacks are.

Only ones I can think of would be extra power consumption and heat, but 760 SLI does not use a bunch of power, and while my top card does get in the low 80's that is far from damaging to the card and my cpu/ram are not affected by it one bit.
