would a coupe has higher insurance rate than a sedan?

coz i was told that coupe statistically has higher crash rate so the insurances are higher..

:eek: sorry for neffing with more car question... :eek:

I'm pretty sure it would because it might qualitfy as a "sports car" whatever their defination of a sports car is :confused: ;) They just wanna make money. :|

Actually alot of it depends on the age of the car too. I think on my current plan I can get liability on almost any ccar before 94 or so for like another $20 a month (mind you my policy has 4 cars on it but...)

well, i don't know if they really do have a higher rate, but i know some coupes are not as good in crashes. A long door instead of a nice pilar beside you means side impact can hurt more. This applies to the civic, the 4door has a higher rating on side impact.

Yes, because I'm paying now for my ZX2 than I was for my Cutlass Ciera...and I realize age comes into play, but how else could they use a question of how many doors the car has other than to qualify the cost somehow?
