Would 2Gb Dual Channel be much better than 1Gb?

Sorry if this question has been asked billions of times over, but I didn't see any recently that looked similar... My deal is, I currently have 1Gb (2x512Mb) PC3200 DDR running in dual channel in my system, and I have been toying with the idea of adding another 2 sticks of 512Mb to give the system a total of 2Gb ram. I can get the exact same sticks as I have before, so timing issues, latency, etc shouldnt be an issue... but I am curious, how much of a difference will there be?

I use photoshop, some video editing, and play a lot of games... I assume there will be some advantage there. I also recently noticed that DoD:Source takes almost 1-2 minutes to alt+tab back and forth between WinXP (CS:Source only takes about 3-4 seconds). Will there be a monumental difference in this speed?

On a side note, my current system specs are:
CPU: P4 3.0 Ghz
VID: GeForce 6800 Gt (256Mb)
RAM: 1Gb (2x512Mb) PC3200 DDR (as mentioned above)

Anyway, thanks in advance for the info, I appreciate it! 🙂

Well, I wouldn't expect much of a performance gain IN games (except maybe faster load times, or minimal load times [think: ironforge...]), but it would definitely help me transition between apps and games, right? I mean, I don't think my system is a slouch by any means, but when i play CS:Source for over an hour or so, it takes a bit longer than i think it should to get everything back in order when i get back into windows... and it's startin to bug me!

Definitely because it takes me like no time to alt-tab w/ DOD-S
