If you can OC the A64 that high, but I don't know if you'll really notice a difference. The problem with gaming is you can't tell the difference when you start talking about gaming at higher resolutions, because of video card bottle necks. If you have a P4@3.6 I wouldn't upgrade.

Looking at your score really doesn't mean much. Its not high like an FX but its still pretty good. But you don't play 3dmark ;).

Like Classy said, you don't need an upgrade, a 3.6ghz P4 gets the job done very well :)

I still have my 2 year old P4 2.66Ghz and radeon 9700 Pro I can play all the games fine.

Honestly though, 2 years ago, I expected 4.5Ghz processors by now, not the cpus out today. I am having a hard time justifying upgrading now.

the main reason i am asking is ive had a very good offer on my current P4 + mobo and if i sell that it will only cost me $40 to get a A64 + mobo

do you consider it worthwhile then?

my current rig plays most games fine just new ones like NFSU2 is really slow and i keep hearing about how smooth it is on A64 rigs

For $40 it is definitely worth the switch and I wouldn't hesitate under those circumstances. Your problems with the game running slow may not have anything to do with a CPU bottleneck though. I can't really say since I haven't perused anything to do with the game.
