With prices so low $45USD for a 2100+(my AbitKR7A 133 Raid Mobocan only support maximum 2100+ Palimino) ............but is it worth it...........performance-wise.

System specs Big Bertha in sig.

TIA.

Nope. Not in my opinion. Your computer would run faster, but hardly noticeable.

You can probably overclock that sucker to 2100+ speeds, if ur comfortable with doing that.

The performance boost will be just on the edge of being noticible. Generally no one can tell a speed boost of 10% or less. This will be just above 10%. So it will be barely noticeable. However you will notice the size of your wallet changing by $45. So in my opinion don't do it unless you can sell your 1800+ processor for close to $45.

I would put the money towards a new revision of an nForce2 mobo... Set yourself up to be able to use a "good" CPU. Don't be wasting money on junk like Pal's.

Of course, if you were to buy a new nForce2 board, you wouldn't be able to withstand going ahead and buying a t-bred to go with it. ;)

Id overclock it a bit, with the 2100+ will it allow to overclock further or is there some kind of limit?

Also, you might want to get some more RAM, but IMO you have plenty right now.

The only place I see $45 being spent would be on something like new fans if your current ones are loud. You could also spend some more money than that a get a new video or a new motherboard.

Really, you're better off saving it.

Well thanks alot guys...................think I'll save my $45.00 and try the overclocking thing.

I bought, some time ago, a Thermaltake Smart & Silent Volcano 9 HSF that I haven't had time to install yet. I was also waiting to see if I was going to change the CPU.

So, onward and upward....... Overclocking here I come. I here that Abit's Softmenu makes it pretty easy.

Thanks again for the replies.

Mark.

Call me curious, but where exactly are you getting a 2100+ for $45 bucks?

Googlegear: OEM = $76.00
Newegg: OEM = $75.00
