Worth upgrading Laptop?

I have an acer laptop with

Turrion 1.6ghz 1mb cache
1gb ddr 2700 2.5/3/3/7
x700 64mb 450/440
100gb 5400rpm hard drive

Do you think if i upgraded the cpu to a Turrion 2ghz with 1mb cache and a 7200 rpm hard drive that i would notice the increased performance. I looked up the data transfer spec of the current vs the one i'm thinking of getting and it's only 10mbs faster max.

IMO, the cost to performance ratio is not worth it. I would add more memory if anything, but thats about it. My 2 cents.

yep, and a 7200rpm HD will likely drain the batteries faster too.

Hmmm so you both think its not worth it. I got rid of my desktop because i only use my laptop now as i'm never home ... seems like everything used to run way way way faster on my (AXP 3200) (ddr400 2/2/2/5) (9700pro) (7.2k drive)

hmm what model is that acer. I have a 7200rpm HD it does not drain battery that bad really I can get 3.5 hours on my 17 inch notebook. My frind Upgraded from an MT-32 to MT-37 noticeable increase

$69 mL-37
