Mario Galaxy is amazing. Wii Sports makes for some fun party games.

Like everyone else, I can't say enough about SMG. To me, it's a better version of one of my favorite games of all time, SM64.

Anyone play Twilight Princess? I loved OoT. Is it more of the same greatness?

The Wii doesn't have a lot of good games, but the good games that it has are REALLY good. I think it's worth it for a casual gamer who plays a few hours a week. For those that don't leave their parents basement or have no life, probably not.

Well there's your answer OP, if you're cool and have a life you need a Wii, but if you're a loser without a life well then its just too cool for you.[/sarcasm]

😕 Way to misinterpret what I was saying. It's not about what's cool and what's not cool. It sounds like you too offense to that.

If you're not a hardcore gamer, there are enough great games to hold you over. If you're a hardcore gamer and that's all you do, you'll be bored with it within a few months.

In my opinion, the Wii has the best games, but it has the fewest good games.

hey thanks guys, maybe the wii is more family n friend oientated, and because im single with no kids, and definately not cool ;p might not be for me

cheers

The Wii gets old, fast. Its the same games, that every other Nintendo console has had. Mario? Check. Metroid? Check. Zelda? Check. SSB? Check. Mario Kart? Check. etc. Dont get me wrong, most are great games, but c'mon, its the same ol' same ol'. Hardly any worthy 3rd part games. The Wii is the king of shovelware. Look at this new press release to see what I mean. Mr. Bean, Thomas the Tank, Casper's Spooky Sports Day, and Bob the Builder? Oh joy. This quote illustrates my point, "
We feel the line-up is perfect to take advantage of the Wii demographic
". Meaning, 11 and under.

Next to zero online play, makes it hard to enjoy games with friends. Maybe you have people over all the time to play games, I dont. I havent played mine in months, before Mario Kart came out. The single player cheats like nobodys business.. but multi is fun.

Graphics looks pretty poor on my 57" WS tv. Especially MK. It shimmers very badly, is distorted, and makes things hard to see at a distance. The Wii is much more suited for a smaller TV. Graphically, the Wii doesnt come anywhere near my PS3. Just my opinion on the matter.

That being said, I am glad I had it. For the few select games that are good for it. My 9 year old plays Hannah Montana on it, and High School Musical all the time. But then again, that should tell you something too.

I'll agree that there is plenty of shovelware, but that's what reviews online and these forums are for. As for the same games... it's just a new spin on them, which is what happens w/ every generation.

As for graphics, I don't know why you're comparing it to the PS3, but yes, it is not suited at all for the large TV, but it was pretty much expected when they said they weren't doing HD.

But as stated, the Wii has some great games, just few and far between. If you are not a fan of the Nintendo franchise, then it definitely won't be worth it for you yet.

JDub02: I loved TP. But never played OoT. When I bought it on the VC, the begining felt very similar to TP. Yes, I know they're all Zelda games, but the similarities felt more like it was a remake. But like I said, I only played maybe 2hrs into OoT and stopped. 55hrs of TP took a toll on my Zelda playing, haha

I love the Wii. I don't play it often, as I tend to play on my computer a lot more than anything else. But with kids in the house... the Wii can't be beat. Hell, my wife loves it too. It's nice to not be the only one addicted to games anymore.

Wife got me a Wii + games just this last weekend. To be honest, I've never seen her have more fun with video games. She doesn't care for anything on the Xbox360, but she's had an absolute blast playing Wii Sports and Mario Kart Wii.

I really think it's worth it for the party games. So far we've had friends over and played Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports and Mario Party 8 and everyone's had a blast. I haven't even had a chance to rip open Mario Galaxy or Zelda: TP.

I am planning on picking up Okami as well. I love games full of artwork.

Another reason to get the Wii: exclusive content & controls in Star Wars: Force Unleashed come September. I'm hoping this game becomes a catalyst to get more 3rd party devs to use the control scheme on the Wii.

I like my GF's Wii, I play WiiSports and always seem to enjoy myself, yeah i don't play every day but when I do make it to her house I'm bowling and playiing Tennis. I like the Wii Fitness test thing, I absolutely love how one day my age comes in at 28 and the next it will be 63. Mario Galaxy is pretty fun, and I do like the Medal Of Honor, the controls are crazy, even if they're not that great. I have fun waving the Wii mote around like a 'tard because I suck at anything that's not keyboard+mouse

The Wii isn't really so much about looking good as it is about having great gameplay. IMO it's not that great for anything 1 player. I have mario galaxy and played about halfway through.

Yes, but make sure you get component cables.

Besides the usual games, check out the Virtual Console games and the WiiWare titles when they come out in a few weeks.
