Worst traffic accident ever

I might have been playing too much Burnout 3 lately, but does anyone have an idea of what the worst traffic accident ever was? In terms of $ value. Obviously you cannot quantify the value of a human life. I've seen reports of 100+ car pile ups and such, do you think those would even come close to the worst one ever???
