Worst Sports team nickname ever.

To me the dumbest team name has to go to the Utah Jazz. I mean come on, they should have renamed the team when they moved from New Orleans. Do they play jazz in Utah?

It's against the bible.

You mean the Book of Moron (note the "m" intentionally left out for comedic effect... that's pure gold, right there).

I work for a private school, we're the Aardvarks. There are the Banana Slugs of UC Santa Cruz... I always thought The Mighty Ducks was stupid.

Toledo, OH is about to name thier new hockey team the Walleye, a lot of people actually like it.

we are? we do? hmmm

I guess it's fitting. My grandpa, rest his soul... was essentially fed to many walleye (we spread his ashes in a tribute to one of his and my fathers favorite hobbies together: wading into the water and fishing for walleye when they made their pass down river.
Fishing for walleye is a pasttime many generations can say they share enjoyment in.

we also do a 'walleye drop' for new years.

I dunno though, I just think the Toledo Walleyes really clicks for the team.

BTW, you know what they are going to do with the coaching staff of the old hockey club, the Storm? And is the new team, whenever they get that new arena built... going to continue to be in the ECHL, or maybe move up to a higher team? And still gonna be a farm team of the Red Wings?

living in Toledo only about a 1/4 of the year has really disconnected me from the city it seems. And I never thought I'd miss it. Well the town itself was kind of boring but I definitely miss my family scattered across town. Especially love holidays for that reason alone now.
