at this one mexican restaurant that I eat at, they have an appetizer called chorizo con queso, and all it is a huge bowl of crumbled up chorizo (sausage) and about 2 pounds of melted cheese, with all the grease just chilling on the top. You dip chips into it and it is deliciou, but every time I think about it, my arteries cry out in fear and pain and my heart tries to jump out of my chest and strangle me before I can eat it.

The scary part?

I had one of those for lunch the other day...

AND I WAS STILL HUNGRY!

Do it anyway. You're going to die eventually, and that pizza buffet isn't going to do that much harm.

What scares me is people dont believe that this food for bad for them. I just took care of a patient last night and he's in ALL the time because he doesnt believe that frozen TV dinners and fast food are all that bad for you. Mind you he has congestive heart failure(CHF) and hypertension(high blood pressure)

He was admitted because he was having a hypertensive emergency(his BP in ER was >230 systolic) and his heart failure was acting up.

When we asked him what he last meal was, he replied a double with cheese and bacon from wendys a large frie and large coke. He still insisted that it didnt cause him to come into the hospital....

Yeah right.

I remember reading the back of one of those hungry man boxes one time in the store a few years ago and was absolutely disgusted. A buddy of mine ate 8 double-doubles from in-and-out burger one day...that's over 6,000 calories. 3 for lunch, 3 for dinner, 2 for a "midnight snack". He's lucky he didn't have a heart attack the next day. :p
