So a few days ago im with my wife and kids (3 and 9months) and we are going grocery shopping and the kids are acting up as we get them out of the car so I end up forgetting to lock my car doors.

Come back out of the grocery store and go to put the oldest in his booster seat and notice its hanging by the seat belt retainer between the front seats....odd I dont remember throwing his booster seat there.

We dont think anything of it and head to staples to return empty ink carts ($2 per return) when i park and ask my wife to hand me the plastic bag full of empty carts she looks in the floor and says, hey they are not here! I first start thinking they must have rolled under the seat but then put two and two together and realize someone opened my door, grabbed the bag thinking they nabbed something cool from staples and then tried to steal my kids booster seat and then since it was attached with the belt retainer they left in a hurry.

My wife and I had a good laugh about how some dick is going to be sorely disappointed when they find out all they stole was a bag full of empty carts.

What made it even funnier for me is the fact that they didnt touch my ipod or cds, just an empty bag :)

So, first of all, who the hell tries to steal a kids seat? Second of all, wtf are they going to do with empty ink?

Reminds me of when I had a bag stolen in the Panama City bus terminal. I was eating with friends at a table in the food court there, both people on the other side of the table had wandered off in search of more food or a bathroom or something (so nobody was looking at our pile of bags behind me), and a woman came up as a distraction, when I turned around one of my backpacks was gone.

It was a fairly nice laptop backpack with a microsoft logo (career fair freebie), so I guess they thought they had a pretty good score.

What they actually stole was a 10 year old broken digital camera, one pair of blue jeans covered in mud (and presumably cowshit), several filthy t-shirts and dirty boxers, hard-used socks, and things like that. To top it off, I wear a 36" inseam, so even if they decided to keep the jeans they probably wouldn't fit anyone in the country.

I laughed all the way home.

How many ink carts were there? 5 = $10 = fix for a junkie. This may have been a rational move for said junkie, as a junkie trying to return ink carts is a lot less suspicious as one trying to move an ipod.

But you have to have a staples rewards membership and you get it in the form of a store credit coupon in a few months

He successfully burgled you. You should edit your title to reflect that.

"Worst successful burgling ever"

My house was broken into once when me and my roommate were about to fall asleep. Two guys came by and were peering in the window but they left after a few minutes. I called the police just to let them know someone was lurking around the neighborhood. I thought maybe they had seen me through the window and left to go to another house maybe. Anyway, the police showed up for a few minutes to make sure everything was ok.

Then 10 minutes later the guys came back to the house with a bar to break the window. We called the police again, obviously, as they broke the window in my roommates room and were climbing through it. She ran into my room and we threw the bed up against the door. The police were still a block away filling out paperwork from the last call, so they were there within minutes.

As far as I know they never caught the guys, they were only in the house for less than 60 seconds, and never tried to get into my bedroom where me and roommate were hiding.

The funny part is nothing was stolen from the house except one small Ziploc bag full of dried parsley...

Notice i didnt say carseat, those are $100 easy, this is a booster seat for kids too big for a carseat but not big enough to be on their own. They are $10 at walmart ;)

Gotcha, sounds like you got hit by a parking lot cruiser. Why stores with private security can't seem to chase them off I'll never know. You see the street people hanging out in the lots for hours at a time.

So when you return things to Staples, you put them in a Staples bag? Do you also put Walmart items in Walmart bags?

She might just have a big collection of stolen mp3 players...

Or maybe what she is saying is that she'll steal one JUST for you!

Next time leave a bag with a snake in it. Doesn't need to be a deadly one, but it will scare the shit out of the next perp.
