For worst movie, I'm assuming you mean "worst movie that's popular enough that most of us would recognize it."

Worst I ever saw on television is some something or other of the Apes on HBO - a soft porn movie that was on in the middle of the night. Even for it's category, it was absolutely aweful.

But, among the recognizable named movies, here's the plot of the what, without the special effects at the end, I think would have been the worst movie:
*boy wins trip on poker hand, seconds before ship departs.
*girl confused... doesn't want her current suitor.
*girl attempts suicide
*boy stops girl
*girl decides she loves boy (yeah, right... emotional basketcase falls in love in a day or two... it's called "boy takes advantage of girl")
*boy boinks girl
*boy framed by suitor
*ship sinks [Note: this is the only part of the movie worth watching]
*boy dies saving girl (incidentally, if friggin Kate would have stayed on the rowboat, what's his name would have survived on the wood)

It's like they decided "we have a 100 million dollar budget for this movie. Let's spend 99.9 million on special effects, and use the rest to hire someone to write a script."

Oh yeah: Titanic.
Weird... no one seems to mention it anymore... Amazing how long the movie lasted at first, and how strong the video sales were, but it's as if everyone's grown tired of it.

Titanic...actually, I've only seen bits and pieces of it. Couldn't sit through that piece of crap.

Edit-Waterworld would be a crappy movie I've seen. I'm sure there are many more that I'm overlooking.

ANY movie with Steven Segal is destined for the Walmart $4.99 bin. This also applies to 98% of Stephen King inspired movies.

Other movies I'd rather pierce my eyes with an ice pick rather than watch again are:

The remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Cabin Fever
Dreamcatcher (UGHHH)
Titanic
Windtalkers
There are many, many more but the most recent inductee is SESSION 9 which I rented solely based on ATOTer Triumph's recommendation. I am pretty sure it was him at least. **Shakes fist at Triumph** :p

Guy, that movie is teh funny!! I rented it on title alone and had to find my own copy after. I have a friend who despises it, though. (Oddly enough, he really likes Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D)

purbeast0 I cannot understand how you don't like Bubba Ho-Tep. GREAT movie.
FleshLight the same goes for Dr. Strangelove. That was just brilliant and too surreal.
ChurchOfSubgenius if you've never heard of Jabootu's Bad Movie Dimension I think you'd like it.

And I forgot about the remake of Solaris (thankfully). I should have demanded my money back for that waste of time and talent :|

"Fear of a black hat" is definitely the worst ever. If you can find it, rent it and you will see.
Waterworld
The Tom Hanks Catch Me if you Can
Battlefield Earth
Mark Wahlberg Planet of the Apes
Freddy Got Fingered
Eyes Wide Shut
BladeRunner

I'm 23

WTF?
Bladerunner is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Alot of you people only seem to see the movies that became popular. A common thing for hollywood to do is to make movies that have similar plots and release them the same Summer ie "Dante's Peak" and "Volcano" and most people don't know this but the original matrix had a similar counterpart, that is by far the worst film ever created, I will sit through titanic, pauly shore, Steven Seagal, or Andy Dick before I will even look at this movies video cover.

It was called:
eXistenZ

If anyone out their seen it too, then you know what I am talking about!!

Really too many to list. Anything with Kurt Russell though. Plus, Cube and Cube 2.

Romeo and Juliet '90s version. On guard, point and shoot, need I say more.

Lord Of The Rings, all of them. Sorry about this one, never read the books, most repetitive, predictable and unbelievably boring movies I have ever seen, probably only times I contemplated hanging myself. Fortunately I only suffered to one in theaters, caught the rest when my sister got the DVDs, she loves the movies.

'Air Bud'

I haven't seen it but I don't need to to know that it sucked. Same goes for that 'Like Mike' movie. That must have blown serious chunks.

Independence Day is one of the best films made in the last 20 years or so. Easily in the top 25 or so.
