Avril Levigne is reportedly terrible live. They have to Autotune the hell out of her vocals just to make them sound decent on record.

New Order was pretty bad.

They are one of my favorite bands but all they did was go on stage, push a couple buttons on some server, had the music start, sing and leave.

NO WAY! I went to their concert three years ago, they were awesome. And Now with their new album out for a while, All the concerts are SOLD out.

Well, soundwise...the Nuge was pretty bad when I saw him, but that was at the Silverdome (bad place acoustically), we had bad seats, and it was in the middle of a bunch of other bands, the mix wasn't set up very well at all (really only got the screaming guitar bit coming through-vocals were drowned out). But he did have a live buffalo and and flaming arrows, so he got points for that.

Probably all time worst with no excuses like bad mixing or anything was the Deftones. They played dreary music with no caring or feeling whatsoever.

That said, at the same show as the Deftones I was very impressed by Mudvayne (who I hadn't expected to be). They gained at least a couple of fans that day with their performance.

I was going to mention the Deftone's as well......fitting name. Summer Sanitarium tour??

Van Halen sounded awful this last time around, but that could've been due to where we sat. Megadeth sounded terrible also.

On the flip side, the best concert I've heard was the Metallica/Godsmack tour last year. Best sound I've heard live yet.

Yeah Summer Sanitarium '03 tour...4th of July show in Detroit.

I think the worst band I've ever seen live was Rusted Root. Maybe I was expecting too much, but after Geggy Tah's awesome warmup, Rusted Root was just plain Rusted.

Jewel was absolutely horrible. My g/f wanted to see her and I was able to get free tickets so I thought it would be a good idea...WRONG! She did not have her band with her, everything was accoustic. IT SUCKED!!! We left really early...

You that like it's a bad thing. She's best when it's just her and a guitar.

I thought she was good. I am no fan (wife is), but she sounds just like she does on CD...and she obviously doesn't lip sync.

I'm sure I've seen worse, but Korn sucked with Ozzfest. The music was good, but the singing was horrible. Jonathan (the lead singer) kept running back by the speakers to suck on an oxygen mask when he had a chance. I was 4th row so I saw it all.

You should have seen Otep last year, that band is so fvckin horrible. As soon as they got on stage and played the first note I realized that band sucked. I left and went play some guitar at one of the booths.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones on SNL. The band was playing out of sync and the lead singer (Dicky something) growled in monotone through the whole song.

You're right! They were fvckin bad too.. worse than Korn. I've been to so many Ozzfests and seen so many bands on the 2nd stage I lose track...

I couldn't stand Oteps anti-Bush politcal Rhetoric either. I hate mixing politics with my Metal.

Worst I've seen was Smashing Pumpkins on the Pearl Jam/Smashing Pumpkins/Red Hot Chili Peppers tour. Nothing but guitar feedback.

Hoobastank has to be up, or rather down, there.

right on. I saw them on some live MTV thing and they were HORRIBLE! They were singing the crappy song that was on the radio all the time.. the Reason or whatever it was called. I seriously couldn't believe it was sung that bad. Maybe the singer was sick.

That's the exact performance I was thinking of. I saw them again a couple more times (admittedly only on TV) and they weren't as bad as that MTV show, but they were still quite the suck.
