Worst Holiday Gifts - 2013 Edition

Let's hear it - What are the worst holiday gifts you've received? Not just this year, but ever.

I'll start:
This year from a sibling I received an HD-DVD of a popular movie, still sealed.
I don't (and never did) have an HD-DVD player.
They stopped production on players and media in 2008. 5 years ago.
I wonder where they even got it...
 
The worst gifts I've received are cheap crappy personal items. For example, a crappy $10 wallet. Uhm... yeah... I'm not going to stop using my very nice wallet and use that instead.

this is horrible re-gifting. my sister always gets me good presents, my brothers dont have a lot of money. one i know not to expect from but we get along fine, the other will usually at least get me a nice craft beer or something so we can have a good drink together.

my parents were giving me star wars stuff well into my 20s, that was ....it was just really odd. but i think the worst i got was year before last: some friends i had spent loads of time with for a few years gave me freebies that came with their hockey season ticket holder package: a single voucher (i have 2 kids that i brought over a lot who played with their kids, so that was just strange) and some bobble heads that you get free if you show up early to the games.

kinda knew the friendship was headed downhill with that, and sure enough, i do not associate myself with them anymore...but it was a lousy gift.

Yup. It was in a box with other stuff, but this really stuck out to me as "why would they even think of sending that?".
They make quite a bit of money and they know I make enough to buy anything I want too, so I think it's a weird game. "I know he doesn't have one of THESE!"

Maybe they are to the point my sister and I are at. We don't buy gifts for each other since its basically trading money. We buy gifts for each others kids and usually try to be as annoying as possible when doing so. This year I got my niece and nephew high power bullhorns. Apparently they can be heard from a mile away and have a nifty siren feature 😀

lol...I swear if someone got those for my kids I would slash their tires.

We usually give cookies and stuff to each other on my side, and buy kids stuff. on my wife's side, she's the only one with kids so far, usually do a yankee swap or just small stuff like socks, you can never have enough socks.

It started when the kids were babies. I got my nephew some super loud baby toy. The next year she got revenge on me and then it escalated when my niece was born.

My sister and I both have really sick senses of humor. We grew up basically raising each other so we pick on each other mercilessly. Then when we each had kids...it added a whole new level to picking on each other.
