Worst ending ever in a movie? Post your opinion here!

I just saw Pay it Forward for the first time. It had probably the worst ending I've ever seen -- very contrived, very unnecessary, and very manipulative. Needless to say, I was gagging while I was watching it. What was once a simply mediocre movie turned into a barf fest at the end. :disgust:

So, what's your least favorite ending in a movie?

Id have to say, Unbreakable had a pretty poor ending. Of course, that entire movie was terrible, so I may be biased.

I think the worst ending was Planet of the Apes. That ending just sucked.

A close second is Ronin. That movie was good but they just killed it with the ending by not revealing what was in that suitcase. I know that the reason why they didn't show what was inside was because it was something of great value, but still...the suitcase was the point of the whole movie.

"The Thin Red Line" I don't know if the ending was too deep for me or what, but that flower in the rain didn't have any special meaning to me.

Fight Club (when compared to the book, otherwise GREAT movie)

ConAir (most unrealistic ending ever for an action flick)

Off topic, BEST ending ever was Usual Suspects

the thin red line....

george clooney and his cameo appearance at the end. the movie could have been good if I had taken a bottle of ritalin before hand.

<< Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail >>

OMG.. i'm going to second this one as all time worst ending... couldn't have been more painful...😉

Wow, i was just in the shower and was going to post what was the best movie ending since i just saw Planet of the Apes for the first time today.

As for worst... almost every Stephen King movie has a bad ending.

As for why i thought Planet of the Apes had a great ending... it was just a total surprise, and i love surprise ending (ie, Momento, The Game, Fight Club).

Ok, here's how i interpreted the ending: he left the planet, and General Thanes took over... the same guy that was saying how the graves would be unmarked so that when people go there, they would not be able to differentiate between the humans and apes, that they would be one people.

But why did he turn bad after all he said? I would say it was a fake front, maybe fear of Wahlberg because of the technology he had... or maybe he was honest and really believed it... but when Wahlberg left, and he realized he had absolute power (since martial law was instituted), it corrupted him.

Awesome ending though, i know lots of people said it had a bad ending, but i liked it.

Worst end of movie: Congo
Worst beginning of movie: Congo
Worst middle of movie: Congo

Worst freaking movie of all time that still pisses me off that I even spent $6 on this unpolished turd: Congo :|

Now I gotta go take my medicine...😕

I thought Burton's Planet of the Apes' ending was great. Saved the movie IMO.

I think maybe Mr. Holland's Opus. I thought The Green Mile's ending was a real letdown, but not the worst ever.

- AI ... Didn't like it at first, but I kinda want to see it again. Go figure.
- Blues Brothers 2000 ... was great until the witch appeared and they played reagae. I still like that movie a whole bunch.
- Dude, Where's My Car ... oohh, come on. No more aliens please.

That stupid damn movie with jack nicholson when he goes crazy. My god the end to that still pisses me off for wasting two hours of my life.

Are you talking about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? I sure hope not -- that's without a doubt one of the best movies I've ever seen.

How about the Shining? I haven't seen that...

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? Or The Shining? Both are awesome movies, classics now infact.

<< The Perfect Storm...

Worst movie ever. WTF?! They all die in the end? :|
>>

I agree, talk about depressing. I was not familar with the story going into the movie and then they all fvcking die?! That's just great, I felt like killing myself after that movie.
