You know not of what you speak:

Talbot Sunbeam Lotus

The Sunbeam Lotus was fast. Neck-snappingly fast. 60mph could be reached from standstill in 6.6 seconds in standard form. In 1979, this was Ferrari and Porsche territory. The Group 2 rally specification model, meanwhile, could hit 60mph in 5 seconds. These figures were unheard of from a hot hatch then and are still very respectable today.
:p

They also forgot the Datsun 210 (I think that was its designation....)....couldn't get out of its own way on the highway, with or without the A/C on, which was questionable that it actually did function.

My dad owned a datsun B210. He drove it every day to work, round trip about 160 miles. Good reliable car that back in the 80's got 38 mpg with the air on and it did not lack any power at all. It was loud as hell, but was not what I would consider a bad car.

The 1970-1972 Citroen SM is a really ugly car, but for it's time it was okay I guess.

As far as the fiero goes, I love them in hatchback/fastback, whatever it was called. I am planning on possibly purchasing one, as many people do not see a fiero hatchback in good condition anymore. When kept up, they look awesome. And I don't care that they're not fast :p

LoL!

Me: "Yeah well, everyone was in my way."
Cadman: "After all you drank, I think the house was in your way"

the fiero was a good car, except for the fact that it had a tendancy to catch on fire.

Hey! - I resemble that opinion!

The thing people don't know is they fixed this issue in the later years. People hear "Fiero" and think "fire" off the bat, but it depends on the model year whether it's a rolling fire hazard, or a fun MR car :)

Yeah the engine fire was only with the 1984 car - the other years were fine. You don't even have to worry about it anymore either - all of the Fieros with the problem were either fixed on the recall or burnt to the ground :D

It's funny to see the teeny-bopper kids recommending the Grand Am and Aztec for the list. No clue about what a bad car is...

Only the 4 cyl. Fiero's had the fire problem. In '85 IIRC, the V6 was an option. And, I'm not ashamed to say that an 84 Fiero was the first new car I ever bought by myself. I never had any major problems with it, but I sold it shortly after I got married when it had ~85k miles on it.

I must have really bad luck because after reading the list again, I discovered I've actually owned TWO of the top 10. Luckily for me, I never had major problems with my 84 Fiero or my 88 Bronco II.

The Pacer wasnt a bad car, with a straight six motor and a chrysler transmssion the drivetrain was bulletproof. Sure they were ugly but so were lots of other cars.

my sister had a pacer. Tranny had a small crack in it, but it ran great.

We (and most of the US) called it a fishbowl on wheels. ugly car with ice cold air and like you said, a bulletproof drivetrain.
