Oh sheesh, he blew right through all the water barrels. What the hell? Seems like at a spot where they're going to be going 120mph there wouldn't be an exposed retaining wall segment like that. ><

I see they gave him the posthumous win but what happened to the guy who ran him off the road? Every query with the drivers name turns up spanish articles which I can't read. 🙁
 
Woah that's crazy. Was wondering what that "smoke" was but I never even thought of water barrels. I hope he died instantly, would suck to survive that unless some miracle happens...

He didn't die for another 45 minutes (at least that's when he was declared dead), so he didn't even get an instant death.
 
Holy shit, non-connected concrete barriers at a race track. I could have predicted a death going into the race.

Edit - oh nevermind, they're white water barriers, not concrete.

Edit 2 - no, I think they are concrete. Wow.

Not racist at all. Sorta true...and funny too! :laugh:

Crash looked very bad (because of the water barrels exploding on impact). I watched the Dale Earnhardt crash a few weeks ago and it looked like a tap compared to this...but both drivers died.

What do you mean "what happened" to him? It was an accident. I don't know what Nascar rules are but in touring car racing around here he would have probably been giving a pit stop penalty for tapping the rear quarter causing an accident, but these things happen in racing. I don't think he should be suspended from racing or anything crazy like that. But maybe things are different in Nascar, I prefer motor racing that has corners.

At least in Dale Earnhardt's case he killed himself being the huge douche he was on the track. His crap finally caught up with him.
 
The worst crash I've seen was some kind of cross country rally style race. It was an open wheel car, Formula style. They hit a tree going about 200mph if my memory's correct, and it split the car like a knife through butter. There was a driver, and a navigator. One of them died, but I don't remember which one.
 
Some of the open cockpit accidents on youtube are worse. Those guys run the risk of being turned to mist and chunks of meat in front of everybody.
