Agreed. Clearly the only solution is to wipe out the deer population altogether.

Yet people still complain about hunting. Yeah, killing a pest and putting meat on the table is evil

Yes rifles, muzzleloaders, shotguns, and bows (with arrows hehe) should be used to take down a deer not a car.

That and they starve.

All states that severely restrict hunting (or make it so inconvient that noone participates) if I'm not mistaken.

In Illinois, if you have a pulse and $40 you can get a deer permit. Deer hunting (especially shotgun season) is HUGE in Illinois. In must rural areas of Illinois, and outside of Chicago, that's most of the state...the high schools are half empty during shotgun season because kids skip class to hunt. Same thing for workplaces. They vacate the first shotgun season.

That sounds a lot like Indiana, too.

with very little work you can get 3 and 4 tags in pennsylvania, farmers can also get crop damage tags and take many more.

Hunting is not very restricted in pennsylvania. They just dont allow semi-auto weapons to be used.

Ive hunted on the PA/OH border at a friends farm, you can always tell when its PA hunters and ohio hunters. PA youll hear one loud (rifle), OH you hear 3-4 blasts in rapid succession (Semi-Auto Shotgun). I dont know how they eat the meat with it full of buckshot like that.

Edit: but yes deer are a very serious problem in rural PA, ive had 4 near misses in a couple years, and my GF hit one.

GREAT JOB STATE FARM.

I wonder if they even bothered to adjust for number of state farm customers. This article is complete crap.

Lots of deer in PA. My mom hit one several years ago when we used to live there. Almost totaled her car.

If I had to guess, I'd imagine you'd see states like Idaho, Montanna, Wyoming on the list if they accounted for population. Really a junk article. It's like saying more people die in California (than any other state) every year.

also notice that every state on that list is high travel areas for big rigs and people going on vacation.

I think Minnesota needs to be higher up there, Ive already hit 3 deer in the 3 years Ive been driving. In my defense, deer are crazy and the only way I use to be able to get home was from backroads, and lots of deer live in the farmland. Hell, Friday night I was drunk and chasing deer around the parking lot at UMD at 2:00 AM :D

Edit: I was not driving, I was chasing them on foot.
