My evga 7800GT CO is on its way from newegg and will be here tommorow. Once that is installed Im ready to fire this b*tch up.

3700+ San Diego (Arctic cooling freezer 64 pro)
evga 7800GT CO
Epox 9NPA+ sli
WD Caviar 250 SATAII
CDRW/DVD Combo drive
1 90MM fan, 3 80MM fan, and nexus 3.5 fan controller

My question is, the power supply that I have right now is what came with the case (Dynex 500CC from best buy) which is an Allied 500W PSU model AL-B500E.

Specs are: +5v - 52a, +12v - 20a, +3.3v - 28a

Should I be afraid to turn it on hooked up to this PSU. I want to use this thing tommorow and my only option in terms of another PSU would be from best buy. I dont plan to overclock this thing till I get a better power supply, but in the meantime will this be enough for some gaming?

Should be fine, power-wise. I'm not entirely sure about the brand, though. When you get an opportunity, you might want to swap it out for an FSP or Antec.

Wouldn't hurt to try it, but the 12v rail is pretty weak for a 500w PSU, looks like most of the power is on the 5v rail, which isn't going to be used all that much. Personaly I would replace it with a 400w or better Fortron as soon as possible.

It will work fine, but make sure to get a good one before you overclock it.

The 12v does seem weak that was what worried me.

On a side note, I was just looking at Best Buys website and noticed that they only have the Antec smartpower 2.0 350w and some dynex brand listed. Last time I was in the store they had the Neo HE 500/550?W. Kinda why I was thinking I could pick one up at best buy if needed, but it doesent look like it.
