Yuck. At first I thought, worms from the fruits that juice is from but that doesn't make any sense, they would never survive the juicing process intact.

I don't buy my kids Capri Sun, but if I did I would wait for better evidence before worrying about this too much. It's too easy to fake crap like this.

When I worked for a newspaper we would get calls about shit like this all the time. Every single one we ever investigated turned out to be wackos on the scam trying to make some easy money.

Anyone remember the Wendy's Chili Finger Incident from several years ago?

Anyone remember the Wendy's Chili Finger Incident from several years ago?

hah

March 11) -- Anna Ayala will not be dining at a Wendy's restaurant anytime soon.

The woman who gained infamy in 2005 when she planted a severed finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili is out of prison. One of the conditions of her probation is that she never set foot in the fast-food chain again.
Joe Cavaretta, AP
Anna Ayala, shown in court in 2005, claimed she found a finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili. Police determined she planted the finger.

In her first interview since her release, Ayala admitted to CBS affiliate KPIX-TV that she had cooked the finger in a bowl of chili and later transferred it into a Wendy's container.

"I cooked it," she told KPIX.

Ayala said that, following a Wendy's recipe, she made the chili at her home in Las Vegas, froze it for several months, and eventually drove to a Wendy's restaurant in San Jose, Calif., where she pretended to find the finger in her meal.

"Wendy's had nothing to do with this," Ayala said.

Ayala was released from prison nearly a year ago after serving four years of a nine-year sentence. "I'm changed," Ayala, 44, told KPIX. "Prison changes a person."

She said she granted the interview so that she could publicly apologize and begin getting on with her life. "I deeply apologize," Ayala said. "I hurt a lot of people. I hurt my family, my children, due to my stupidity."

Ayala's initial claim that Wendy's was to blame for the finger in the chili set off a firestorm of negative publicity that the restaurant chain estimates cost it $21 million in lost sales, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

An investigation launched by the San Jose Police Department revealed inconsistencies in Ayala's story, and the finger was ultimately traced to Brian Rossiter, a co-worker of Ayala's husband, Jaime Plascencia.

Rossiter later testified in court that he lost the finger in a work accident and gave it to Ayala's husband to settle a $100 bet. On Jan. 18, 2006, both Plascencia and Ayala were found guilty of attempting to extort money from Wendy's.

"I think about it every day," Ayala told KPIX. "What was I thinking?"

Article claims that Google suggests "worms" to complete "Capri Sun w"

It does not.

(probably will soon, though)

Not to open a can of worms, but the food industry really needs to have another look at its quality control

I agree that there needs to be more evidence and I guess if what they said about google isn't true, then maybe the article was BS.

Like I said though, it's Kraft.

Even if this story were 100% true, of which I have my doubts, it's pretty sad that we get so upset over someone claiming to have found a worm in their apple juice. Did the kid die or get sick?

Millions and millions of pouches of Capri Sun have been happily consumed with no problem at all. Even if one kid did get a worm, sometimes shit just happens and nobody is at fault.

No, we'd rather believe that Kraft is an evil corporation, counting it's obscene profits and snickering at the worm they fed to a kid for laughs.

Wait, a cardboard box of industrially produced "juice" conglomeration was found to be contaminated?

What does Kraft think Capri Sun is supposed to be, tequila?

1/2 agree. If it turns out just to be an earth worm then it's being blow out of proportion. If it's something else that's the result of unclean packing conditions then there's more reason for concern.

It is possible that the earthworm could be more nutritious than the beverage itself.
Hasn't the government been pushing the junk food industry to make their stuff more nutritious? It appears as if it is working. I see nothing wrong here.

If I recall correctly, Capri Sun was always 100% juice without preservatives or food coloring. That's why the pouch is opaque.

Weird, just this morning I was trying to remember the name of those silver pouch drinks that my mom would give us if we were on good behavior. ATOT always comes through.
