Except that it affects unpatched XP as well

While the worm affects primarily Windows 2000, it also can affect some early versions of Microsoft XP, said Johannes Ullrich, chief technology officer of the Sans Institute, a network security firm based in Jacksonville, Florida.

we have one w200 box at work and now i know why this was the only box (amongst the XP PCs) which got a security update today.

Not that it matters - those comps are frickin slow and most of the time (in addition to slw hardware) stupid NAV rtvscan eats 99% of CPU power scanning for viruses :) I dont think that a worm can do more damage there..lol.

I love Norton.

I was interning at Stanford this one summer. This was the same summer when the Blaster worm hit. LoL. We couldn't get jack done. IT for our department was out for a week and all hell broke loose. We got nothing done and over half of the campus' computers got infected.... Fun.
