Worlds smallest bananas

I wonder... what specific type of bananas are these... where do they originate?

All i can tell you so far, is they taste great... somewhat sweeter than a regular banana.

Yes, you can get them in Chinatown stores. They're called "plantains" IIRC which is the family in which all bananas belong. They are used for cooking with and taste very tart.

for some reason i imagined bananas about an inch big like the sweets! haha, i think i've seen these before, cant remember where or where they're from tho!

I see lots of these in tropical countries, we still call them bananas, but they are much sweeter. Hmm in a month or so I will be eating these tropical fruit delicacies :D:D

these are NOT plantains. Plantains are bigger and not sweet.

plantains are the big bananas the savoury type ones used in cooking

They're called "banana ouro" in Brazil, or "Golden Banana". I love em! You have to get them rip though otherwise they're very bitter.
