World's first 3D display revealed

i'd really like to see what it looks like besides a cropped image of someone's fingers going through the bottom corner of it.

Due to overwhelming volume this page is unavailable, please check back soon.

Well this means that 3D rendering will be in 3D!This speed fps in games because lack of conversion to 3D from 2D cords .

It basically means it faster to display stuff in 3D because of GPU not having to convert 3D polygons into 2D ones. It would also not have to do back face culling.

GENERAL QUESTIONS:

Does one feel anything in the air when touching the image?

*The image feels just like air.

How bright is the image?

* Images are visibile under typical office lighting (See our videos and images). Images are about as bright as the first-generation rear projection TV's. Similar to any display on the market, the darker the ambience, the brighter the image is percieved. Heliodisplay images work best under controlled lighting.

What kind of the image definition and fidelity can I expect?

*Colors render in the full spectrum, and eight point text is legible.

How noisy is the heliodisplay?

*The heliodisplay running in display mode is about loud as the fans on a computer server.

What do I need to run the Heliodisplay?

*Plug the unit into a wall outlet. Connect a computer or TV using our standard input connectors.

Does the Heliodisplay require any special format video or computer files?

*The Heliodisplay supports most standard video and computer formats. Most anything that can be viewed on a computer (mpg, avi, quicktimes, etc) are viewable on the display.

Will the heliodisplay project a visible image in a brightly lit room?

*Yes, but like every display, the image will appear brighter in a less well lit room. The heliodisplay was designed to work in typical indoor office lighting. In brighter environments the image may appear dimmer, but introducing a dark background can be employed to compensate for lighting.

Will the heliodisplay work outside of the USA?

*Yes, but our current heliodisplay works on 110V/60Hz and can be used in countries with 220-240V with a voltage step-up transformer.

Will the heliodisplay affect the room in which it is operating in?

*No, the heliodisplay converts the air and does not introduce anything new into the air that does not already exist in the air.

Will the heliodisplay work outdoors?

*Yes it will, but not display images as they were designed for since the image may be susceptible to cross winds and extreme brightness.

What images can be viewed on a heliodisplay?

*Most images, or videos that can be viewed on a television or computer can be viewed on a heliodisplay.

Do I need any special equipment to connect to a heliodisplay?

*No, the heliodisplay connects to most computers, DVD players, videogame consoles or televisions using a standard supplied video cable.

Can the images be viewed from the side and back?

*Yes, images can be viewed from a wide viewing angle. There is a visible reversed image when seen from the rear.

What is the image resolution?

*The heliodisplay projects high resolution 24-bit color images and is capable of displaying higher resolution video than supported by DVD. Image resolution ranges from VGA to SXGA, and is able to display HDTV capable video.

What is interactivity?

*When the heliodisplay is connected to a Windows (r) PC using a standard USB cable, and with the supplied IO2 software installed, you can use your finger as a touch-screen to move the cursor to navigate and interact with programs and games.

How can I use the interactivity?

*Use your finger, pen, pencil or any object to select and navigate as you would a conventional touch-screen; the only difference is that there is no physical screen.

Will the heliodisplay project 3D video and images?

*The heliodisplay will display any 3D type video or games from your computer. Images are in fact planar like on your computer or television, but seem three-dimensional when viewed from about an arms distance.

Can the heliodisplay be hidden in furniture or display pedestals?

*Yes, the heliodisplay was designed to be hidden and out of view. Ensure that adequate space is allowed for ventilation surrounding the heliodisplay. The top must be left uncovered for the device to work properly.

What do I do about service or repairs?

*IO2 provides readily available replacement parts.

How will this work practically with today's computers? Can any technology on the market take advantage of this?

(I want the thing that Tom Cruise uses in Minority Report, except w. out the violent hand movements)
