Worlds Fastest videocard!

Ok the name is a little stupid and long but hey the worlds fastest videocard i spose must have the worlds longest name.

Anyways this card is based off the 6800 Ultra Etreme GPU

clocked at 550Mhz Core and 1200Mhz-1300Mhz Ram

This most likely will make it the worlds fastest graphics card! but at $600 its not what someone would call value for money.

Edit: 600 pounds sorry!

That said 600 pounds not 600 dollars so that thing will really cost like $750 or highier? I donno to many people who have that kind of money but I guess there are some since people buy EE's and FX's too.

Well hell, if you're gonna drop $500 on a card, you might as well spend a little extra and get the fastest thing on the planet 😀

surprised they didn't call it the super ultra extreme XT. Man, they really hit the thesaurus with this round of cards.

LOL...no kidding

X800XT Platinum
X800XT
6800Ultra Extreme
6800Ultra

I mean come on? Why do the titles have to be miles long.

Too funny!

£600 is quite expensive for a videocard, however, I'm sure there are several people out there who don't mind spending it. Personally, I'm more interested in how much power that card requires to run.

Yeah it is a lot of money. As for power, luckily I purchased a 550watt last summer, so I am set on the PSU side. I don't think it would use much more over a normal Extreme however. But I am totally clueless if it will or won't.

This reminds me of the musclecar days when companies would shoe-horn in abusrd engines to claim the performance crown(and then only sell like 100 of them).

600 pounds today would equate to $1073 American dollars... definately a rip off, lol. I'm almost debating whether it will be worth it for a $400 non flag ship high end card, 2x the price you can get a 9800 Pro for and you rarely get 2x the performance on a consistent basis... But $1000 vs $500, I'd go with a plain change top end card as I'd be willing to bet my life savings the extremely over clocked 6800U offeres 2x the performance of a plain 6800U.

wow the exchange rate really changed since bush took over. I remember it used to be $900 for £600 just 5 years ago.
Well for that price, i'd rather get a cheap prometeia and oc it to 750MHz 😀

lmao, so true. But that will mean they'll be worth a lot more in the history books.

*slams book shut*

Is there any way to extropolate from dry ice to water cooling? Since the X800XTPE did 715 on dry ice, what might it do with plain old water cooling?

Gainward claims a 600mhz core on water is normal for the UE.

Performance would still be extremely close, you move up to dry ice and it should be able to get another 20% in clockspeed.

Haha... me pay that much for a video card. There is no value whatsoever in this deal. I would only pay that much if it was guarranteed to play game for the next 5 years without problems at high detail.

Their is no guarrante on any computer part you buy lasting!!!! this videocard is only for sale to those people who dont care about the cost but want the best of the best! ... their are people out there like this those people also drive around in cars we would never think about buying either!
