I don't really know anything about Dell's Poweredge machines, but in case you haven't been there, here is a large thread on PCI card compatability with the 1600's at the Dell forums:

I only read through a few responses (the thread covers about 3-4 months of posts), but from what I saw, alot of people are having problems adding PCI cards to their 1600's. I hope you can find an answer that will help you out. Good luck.

If PCI transfers at x, and your card runs at 5x, guess what speed your card really runs at .... x

33MHz PCI isnt going to let your card run any faster.

Good price though. I bought the AGP version.

No one is arguing that the PCI bus is good food for graphics

This card is for people who don't have an AGP slot

Or people that want to add a second graphics card.

For people with one of the budget dells, cards like this are wonderful.

Side Note: I have two computers sharing the same monitor using a KVM. One has a well reviewed Nvidia Geforce 3 Ti 200 the other this card. I am amazed at how much better the ATI card looks at the same res/refresh rate.
