World's fastest car for sale on eBay

Damn I am ignorant. I have never even heard of this car. 🙁 I get the impression it doesn't require the "stop and press this button if you want maximum speed" bullsh*t of the veyron.

Honestly, I wouldn't want either of those cars. I'd be perfectly happy with a Lotus Elise.
Fixed that for ya.

Honestly, I probably would be perfectly happy with a Lotus Elise. 😛

Edit-I was trying to make you guys happy by picking something fairly expensive and Italian, you know, something that you people love to drool over. 😛

TopGear hasn't tested it... they can't have an American Hypercar embarrassing them. I was surprised as hell when they admitted the new CTS-V is the fastest 4-door sedan in production.

Hey, what do you mean "You people"? 😛

I hate cars w/ high maintenance, that car looks like it requires a ton of maintenance. I'll live my car fantasies through GT thanks.

Looks boring. Rather have a sweet american muscle car or anything more than an inch off the ground..

I always wondered by how much they could smash the records by using ye olde 426 hemi and supercharging it, gear it up right, and use the right tires, wings.

Around 4.5@330 in the 1/4 mile would be my guess 🙂

"When Shelby brought his car to me for a test drive, I admit I had never heard of it. I wasn?t aware of it at all. But after I saw the Aero and then drove it, I was really impressed. This is not a prototype. It?s a real street- and emissions-legal car. I drove it on a very hot, 100-degree Los Angeles day. The water temperature never went over 190, and the oil temp stabilized at around 220 degrees. If some of these other ultrafast cars get a little hot, you have to shut them off and wait. They?re not very practical. But the SSC Aero is really functional. It?s not fragile. You can beat the Aero up all day, and it?ll keep running. And it?s got a nav system, a backup camera, a 10-speaker stereo/CD system and even room in the trunk! You could probably commute to work in this car if you wanted to. "

Jay Leno think's its a robust vehicle. I can't find any information on where the engine comes from (I would somewhat doubt that it was developed in house) but I suspect it's a chevy pushrod V8, and if you can think of a lower maintenance performance engine, let me know.

I would suspect that the transaxle would be somewhat fragile with 1200 horsepower going through it, though, but it seems like some boxes like Ricardos are good for that kind of power.

i believe the engine is based off of the LS2/LS3.

The difference is that a sports car is like sending in a highly trained sniper to go in and take out a target and get out without being detected, where as a muscle car is going in with an armored up D9 Cat and just tearing through the place.

Sure, the former is much cleaner and more elegant. But even just the thought of the latter puts a shit eating grin on your face.
