World's cheapest car coming to U.S.

There are people walking and riding bicycles and motorcycles to work too, or driving old econobox cars with no airbags and fancy safety cages.
Not everyone has ability or inclination to pay for the latest and greatest safety features. If it's under $5K, it will sell.
 
By the time it gets here it will be closer to $10k. Case in point: Kia, Hyundai, etc.. There are no $5k cars let alone $2k. Federal mandates on safety and emissions and all that will ensure its $2k cost is a pipe dream in this country.
 
Do you guys know how much GM Daewoo's Matiz costs in Korea? $ 4k USD.

Now, how much will Chevy Spark, same car as Matiz, cost in US market, with all those goodies? We are talking about eye-stunning if we see $ 10k.

We will see. But I will be quite surprised if it arrives here with sub-$ 6k price tag...
 
What is the engine life of that car? I am thinking I can drop 2-3 grand on a used car and get more engine life out of that + safety + performance vs buying this piece of shit.

The article actually seems to say the world's cheapest car is not coming to the US, but a different, larger, more expensive Tata, might be...

Why not just buy a corolla and write Lotus on the outside of it?
 
looks good. if the US economy keeps dropping relative to other countries, i bet everyone will be buying the cheapest cars out there. Its better than no car at all.
 
Yet another butt ugly little car. Seriously why can't they at least make them halfway pleasing looking?

Looks like a smart car that was put together with glue instead of bolts. I wouldn't be caught dead in one.

When the Honda 600 first came over here, they were considered crap. We have to learn how to walk before we can run. Look at the Korean car manufacturers now.

By the way, I drove a Honda 600 coup 1971 before. The engine has only two cylinders.
