Car stealers took only 20 minutes to steal the worlds best-protected car, a 540,000 pounds Mercedes 600.
The car, built to withstand bombs and grenades, has bullet-proof glass and thick steel armour and can be driven even when the tyres are flat.

According to The Sun, the thieves, believed to work for the Russian mafia, stole the car from a street in the German city of Stuttgart.

J|rgen Schrempp, the boss of car giant Daimler-Chrysler, owned the car. He was attending a business meeting when the vehicle was stolen (ANI)

Exec's 1M limo lifted

Daimler Chrysler head Juergen Schrempp is without wheels. His $1 million S600 Mercedes-Benz armored limousine was stolen while it was parked on a street in Stuttgart, Germany.
The limo, which sports a 12-cylinder engine, hasn't yet been found, the police said.

The S600 is the top Mercedes limo.

This one had bullet-proof windows, "finger-thick" steel plates as part of its chassis as well as tires designed to keep it running even when flat.

The car was probably stolen by the "Russian mafia," a German newspaper reported, citing an unidentified investigator.

The theft was confirmed by a spokesman for the German automaker which declined to make available a photo of the car.

The car is also fitted with a broadcasting device to help retrieve the car, which was reported stolen on Oct. 26.

I would think the satelite trackign would help them retrieve it.

The Russians towed the car into a truck with thick steel plates on all sides, rendering GPS useless.

If I saw a beast like that idling unmanned, I'd HAVE to steal it. Any judge would side with me ... right? 😛

thats what I am saying. I could prolly do it in a half hour, so it should only take thieves that good only a couple minutes. Thats assuming they didnt just tow the thing away.

😕 For some reason I read that as saying that you endorsed the 20-minute timeframe. 😕

I need to stop drinking ... so much. 😛
