Can a mod talk to this kid? he keeps making stupid threads about fast computer and what not.

Falcon Northwest. Quite likely the best computers available anywhere when considering the total package (including home built). They're not going to win any bang for buck contests, but they use top of the line components and are put together with attention to details that not even Apple can compete with. Their custom paint jobs are pretty amazing too, though incredibly expensive.

if you are going to throw away money like that might as well go voodoo pc. They're better albeit a fully loaded voodoo system costs upward of a loaded NEW Camry LE(22-23K).

No, they aren't. F-NW is superior to Voodoo in both craftsmanship and overall product quality as well as support and documentation. Just because a system costs more, doesn't make it better. An E-Machine with a $10k monitor attached to it is not better than your average $1000 Dell system.

You can build a better compy than an Alienware for about half the price.
My system total was ~=4000 and on Alienware it would have been ~=6000. Plus, with that you can only get 2GB memory.

Sometimes the very best parts is only avalible to OEM builder like Alienware at first.

My system is quoted at $8000 from the Egg. I wonder how much it would cost from a boutique builder? 😕

Check out the September Maximum PC. Has a "Dual Everything Dream Machine." Dual 7800GTX's, dual dual core Opterons, almost 2 TB storage, 8 GB RAM, etc. I don't see a "cost to build" or anything... I guess you could price it out yourself but I think it's safe to say it's not worth your money.

they had the price in the mag, its just over $12,000
