Just bought WOW and need the authentication key to create an account. I can't find mine. From what the site said, it is on the cover of the manual for the CE, and on the back of the CD case for the regular edition. I believe I have the regular edition, but there are 5 CD's in separate paper sleeves. I don't see the key in any of the places listed, but maybe I am missing it. If not I will do an exchange tomorrow
 
I don't think I have what you are talking about. I have the box that everything came in, inside of that was another cardboard box that held everything else, the manual, the cd's a couple of guest passes and a product catalog
 
Yeah I am a retard, I took the cd's out of the little box and set it to the side and then completely forgot about it. I got it now, started setting up my account and it asks me for payment method. I plan to use prepaid cards(I can get them at a discount)but I haven't purchased one yet. I wanted to try the game for my free month and see how I like it before committing more money. So do I need to either buy a card or use my credit card in order to set up my account, or can I bypass that for now and then switch to prepaid if I decide to keep playing?
 
You need a prepaid card or a credit card to setup the account, but after that you can add game time manually (with gamecards) via the web interface.
 
Thats gay why do they bother giving you a month free then? I mean I understand it, but if I have to buy extra time just to get started, its kinda stupid. If I start using my credit card is it an auto bill thing that I would have to cancel when i want to start using prepaid cards?
 
you can sign up w/ you CC, and then instantly cancel the subscription after it is approved. then it will tell you that you have 29 days left until you need to resubscribe. easiest way to get the free month to try it.
 
it won't charge your CC or game card until the first FREE month is done.

atleast it didn't when I played.
