So wait, I should wait out until the new expansion set? I'm already downloading the trial for the original, and plan on re-activating my account. Should I even bother? I left off at lvl 14 last Spring Break, dunno if there are any low levels like me even around, no?

You could always roll on one of the newer servers. Tons of low lvls on those servers.

Yeah, the best part about WoW is that because it's so popular, there are always tons of new people to make you look good. You'll still have to buy the original in addition to whatever expansion pack comes out, so you might as well just get it.

And there are plenty of people that would say if you play a MMO at all or if you take the time to rack up thousands of posts on a tech forum you need to get a life too. What exactly is your point? Content development is focused on end game, development budget is focused on end game, the majority of players on are focused on end game- but hey, they must all have everything wrong :)

And they most certainly do. Leveling up is fun, spending 3-7 hours a night in one instance praying to God you get the one item you went there for is not. And then you to do it again the next night - over and over and over. End game in WoW to me means end OF game. I don't have that kind of time, I like going outside.

Theo only one that was launched recently was a PvE server, correct? The rest of the (North American) servers were last launched around Dec 2006 / Jan 2007, right?

IIRC there was a new PVP server launched like a month or 2 ago, it was launched and populated with free transfers from a bunch of high pop servers, it shoudl be open to new chars now, i dont remember the name but im almost 100% sure its there because it was round 10 of free xfers off skullcrusher this time to a new server that no one wanted to go to

The two newest PVE US servers are Cairne and Ghostlands. I rolled on both of them but I'm only playing on Cairne right now. The server is jam packed with people which is good for group questing but a pain when it gets really busy. I'm not sure why Blizzard opens a new server and then just goes nuts with letting a million people on.

I was looking for a new PvP or RP PvP or RP server that does not accept transfers (IIRC, they used to block transfers for a certain amount of time to certain new servers so people can enjoy a number of folks around their own level rather than everybody and his brother being at level 60)

Number of people allowed on the server, constant updates of the content, and a monthly fee?

What crock, you gotta buy the software AND subscribe to play it... you'd think if they were going to make pay for a subscription, they'd at least give you the software to use it for free.

This is exactly why i've never played it and probably never will.

The game costs around $20 and includes one free month. You are basically paying $5 for the game itself (as the monthly free is $15, lower if you buy in bulk).

It took me a long time to come around and now I wonder why I waited so long. I would prefer paying like $100 for the game if the sub was free but $15 is not a lot when you play a lot. I make sure I get my money's worth, that's for sure.

I use to have the same opinion as well. Why should I pay for the client and then pay a monthly fee just to play the game?

Until I decided to see what all the hype was about.

I've yet to find anything that gives me more entertainment value than an MMO can for $15.00 a month.

WoW is sell for about $20.00 - which includes a FREE month. Cheap enough to give it a try and see if you like it or not.

I do not believe rpgs with online mode have upwards of 10K people on just 1 server. A fully developed trade and barter system. Raid level content (taking anywhere from 10-40 people), etc.
