World of Warcraft

Hello, I was curious, have there been any legitimate reviews online concerning WoW and its impact on a system's graphics card? I'm running the game right now at 1024 x 768, 85 Hz refresh rate, vsync, all high settings, no AA/AF, and no fancy eye candy (such as the fullscreen glow and added filtering) And while I max the vsync out at 85 FPS in places like the uncercity, and indoors, places such as stranglethorn vale, the swamp of sorrows, and any other massive outdoor environment bring my FPS to a crawl (low 20's) I thought my CPU and RAM would be enough, but I guess not, anyone care to comment on how the game runs on their system? I'm just trying to get a feel here to see if the problem truly lies in my video card. Thanks a bunch! (and also feel free to say how much you love the game 🙂

disable vsync and enjoy 😀
but seriously, what happens is when your graphics card cant push out 85FPS (to sync with your monitor) then your framerate drops dramaticly (in order to stay in sync). if you disable it, then i doubt you will ever go below 40FPS even with all of the glow effects on etc.
you also might find this VERY intresting: http://hardware.gamespot.com/Story-ST-x-1304-x-x-x
WoW is HEAVILY dependent on processor power. im not sure if your XP 2800+ can quite cut it all of the time, but it should do a damn good job. 1GB of memory is perfect as well.
hope that helped you out, have fun playing WoW 😀

Ya, Disable Vsync. For me all it causes are problems (Games will freeze for a few seconds-minute)

For about 2 months I couldnt fix this problem (Happened when I was playing CS:1.6 and the HL2 demo) then I turned of vsync (in the Video card control panel) and Presto!Instafix!

Alright, so I disable VSYNC in the driver profile itself? And then in game?

edit: I set VYSNC to application preference under the Direct3D settings control, is this what you were talking about?

yeah app preference is fine in your driver. then disable it in game.

Done and doner, i'll be going to stranglethorn vale a little while from now, i'll be sure to check back 🙂 I hope this solves my problem.
