I have an Abit NF7-S, 2500+ @ 2.4ghz, 1gb pc3700 @ 3200, 6800 GT stock speeds. I have been getting this error this last month, it just blue screens me and the problem is with the kmixer.dll. Before this last month, running the same version, the game never crashed on me. Then all of the sudden it crashes quite often now, there is nothing that I can point out that causes this crashing to happen. Even after a fresh reformat it still crashes as frequent.

All crashing has occured on older versions of nForce drivers along with the new ones. I have not tested a lot of video drivers as I do not see that as being the problem. Kmixer.dll has something to do with the sound, although I am unsure what it actually does. Hopefully someone in here has had this problem and fixed it or maybe someone just has a good idea.

yes I have...i am prime stable and all other game work like a champ...

This response has gotten me thinking....is there anyway to check the temp on my northbridge other than touch. Because if the northbridge TIM has gotten crappy then it wouldn't be transfering well enough to be too warm to the touch but could cause these problems that are related to the sound....let me know what you guys think
 
as said before, I have used all soundstorm drivers I cold find. Even the ones that came on the disk with the motherboard, and the newest update from A-Bit. I have used all nVidia reference drivers and there has been no real change. With the A-Bit drivers it even caused Teamspeak to stop working.
 
may want to post your question on the offical board for WoW to see if anyone there has ideas.

Only stuff I could even pull up the WoW boards was related to kmixer.sys

Not that those boards are really friendly to search through 😉
