I've repeatedly stated that the gap should be there, but simply not as big, and your only argument relies on ignoring this and pigeonholing me, a raider, into the whiny "casual" camp? 😕
But,
you're the one who complains about casual players and thier entitlement attitude. Do you recognize this or do I have to use the search funtion? I
am a casual player. I don't own a single epic item. I'll never see the inside of BWL or MC. And I'm perfectly fine with this. I am also perfectly fine knowing that epic gear > my gear. I'm not ignoring this at all. Why would this affect me? How does this affect you?
Also, this only applies to PvP. If you don't PvP, the gear of other players has ZERO effect on you and your ability to play the game. So, as you are someone who has repeatedly voiced his abhorrence to PvP play, why do you care at all?
PvE content is designed with players' gearing in mind, and devs who spend 90% of their time designing raid encounter after raid encounter seem prone to assuming everyone's decked out in epics.
If you'll notice, epic gear and raid encounteres are tiered. You don't do BWL until you've farmed Onyxia and conquered MC. You don't do those until you've mastered UBRS. And on and on. This sets the stage perfectly for a
natural progression of playing. If you are tired of running Strat/Scholo/DM etc, you can move up to UBRS. Once you have gotten all your gear there, then you can move on to MC and ZG. Once you have geared from there, you can go to BWL or AQ.
You have the freedom to stop at any point in time and be happy. I've stopped after UBRS and am doing a few ZG runs. I've hit my limit.
Your arguments seem to indicate that you want anyone who hits 60 to immediately jump into a Nefarion run, regardless of gear. Am I correct? If not, what is your argument? How does the quality of gear from Molten Core affect players who can't run UBRS? How do the rewards from AQ affect people who can't farm Onyxia yet?
Regardless, a huge number of people are unhappy with the glass ceiling in this game, read the boards some time. I know being on top is comfy, but don't assume that because you're happy with the state of affairs, everyone else should be or is wrong.
What's this "on top" thing? From what I've read, you are a more advanced player than I, have better gear, go on more raids, etc.
I'm "comfy" because I'm getting exactly what I
want from the game, just as millions of other people are doing - which is exactly what was advertised by Blizzard. I game that lets you advance as far as you want, at your own pace. One that lets casual players enjoy themselves and have decent gear at their level, and the freaks who play 12 hours day have their epic raids and the associated uber-loot. Meanwhile the masses get something in between. There is no way Blizzard is going to piss off the millions of players in that middle area to pander to the extreme ends.
Besides, somehow I don't think Blizzard is getting that idea that you hate their game and implementation via your repeating $15/month credit card payments.
