So very tempting, but I can't imagine myself letting my character die after the trial is up, so it's better not to start at all.

FAQ: Do I need a credit card for this Free Trial?
Yes. In setting up your trial account you will be asked for payment information. You will need a valid credit card to create your World of Warcraft online account.

Why do I need to give them a credit card number if they're going to requirement to purchase the retail version after 10 days?

Why does it say winzip 9.0 is required to unzip this file? You can't use any other programs to unzip it? Thats stupid if true.

When does the free 10 day trial start? Today and its ticking down as we download this file or when we first use the key in the World of Warcraft game ?

Actually, no. There was a deal a while back where a WoW CD came in a magazine with a free trial and after the free trial you could just keep playing for the cost of subscription.

Q10637 - FAQ: Are there special Trial servers or am I playing with regular World of Warcraft players?

There are no special servers. Your experience during the trial is on the same servers as standard players with a few minor restrictions.

The few minor restrictions are you can only get up to lvl 20, no trading with players and no auctions, and something minor about chat, but you can still chat to ppl locally and within a party.

What are the few minor restrictions please?

Does lvl 20 = level 20 ?

How high is that and can anyone get up that high within 10 days or less?

To all you people taking advantage of this offer, my advice is stay away. ;) Here's why:

1) This game is more addicting than cocaine.
2) I haven't even had the game a year yet, and I've spent enough time playing that I could have cured cancer. Something like.... 3 months playing time?

My list of chars:
48 warrior
47 warrior
42 rogue
42 mage
39 priest
35 druid
29 druid
27 mage
25 shammy
22 warlock

Not to mention about 100 other alts between level 10-20.

Like I said before, save yourself while you still can. :)
