World of Warcraft exceeds 600,000 units sold.

GT = PS2 = Many players.
WoW = PC + MMO = Not many players.
Also, it has only had a limited release (US/Aus/NZ I think?)
So they both had limited releases, but WoW is even more limited because there are less PC users and less MMO Players, so 600k is, IMO, very good.
 
Didn't WoW sell some obscenely high number of copies on the first day too? I seem to remember seeing that it was the fastest selling computer game of all time on the main page.

600,000 copies seems like a lot, I wonder how many people will resubscribe after the first free month. It doesn't seem as crowded on my server, but then again I haven't been to the 1-20 zones in a while.
 
Since halfway through the beta I knew this game was going to sell well. My wife even likes playing and she doesn't like computer games.
 
600,000 * 50 = $30,000,000
plus, 15 * 600,000 * 12 = $108,000,000

WOW (pun intended)

not to mention some people are still having trouble finding copies!

i doubt you will find it online at all, all online major retail outlets are out (target, walmart, bestbuy , gamestop,
amazon)

your best bet is a walmart or target in your area or another store that sells PC software but its not their specialty

maybe like staples (which may or may not even carry it)

Last I checked Amazon had it in stock. I checked 6 different "Game Outlets" locally when I got my copy all were sold out, I ended up finding it at a local Wal-Mart ( Wal-Mart online was sold out )
